The fascinating post-post-modern language of academia always lures me to read more. Not tempted to write in its hermetic codes, I still manage to enjoy a wry grin or two, reminiscent of student days when reading was no laughing matter.

I bowed out of college (gracefully and gently bedecked with thin laurels) just as post-colonialism hit the scene. Perhaps it was due to lack of imagination, but it never engaged me much and even wading through vast tomes on Orientalism (which seems somewhere in the same ball park) has ensured that I shall continue to keep a safe distance from all these thought processes that split, divide and atomise.

Urbanism, however, seems more alluring.
After all, there are plenty of roads and traffic there.
