"I watched in silence..."

A visit to Sungei Buloh in Singapore was a peaceful experience. While some may find the statuesque egrets... stationary in the mud... dull and unmoving, I hope to return with a more powerful lens to record their astonishing stillness.
The wetlands were a dull brown, not the vibrant cyan of the Chinese poets, but the scene invitated calm.

Cranes and egrets appear in many cultures as harbingers of news.

The Symbolism is powerful and ancient.

"The Owl Service" by Alan Garner is very beautiful for bird and flower imagery.
