The Baroque Style in Dublin in the 18th Century

The Widgeting Hour: The Baroque

Baroque art is highly ornate, full of colour, textures and patterns.

It hit Dublin as a craze, helped along by Italian craftsmen and women whose imaginations are still to be found recorded on ceilings and in the few remaining gardens of the time.

Don't miss the Powerscourt Centre is you should visit.
There are rooms that are not easily found by the casual tourist, but where
the ceilings are like magical stucco lacework.
