There is a possibility that the crime writers who seem to be firmly lodged in contemporary literary discourse may be, in fact, the New New Romantics.
Adrenaline flows through their narratives, passions unleashed by drug and alcohol abuse... or, even more likely, by taking a job in an office where "powerful people" manipulate and mis-administer the underlings who have only the power to undermine and expose corruption... really, it's "Sturm und Drang" all over again.
I urge myself daily to weather the storm...
